**ABOUT THE ROLE**
Reporting to the COO, you will be a seasoned professional with a proven background in supporting the delivery of winning profitable business, whilst also providing support and governance to the business, ensuring that contracts with both clients and suppliers are secure and commercially viable.
This role is pivotal to the management of change at Alfabs. Having doubled the number employees to 300 over the previous two years, Alfabs is now setting the stage for our next growth period and this role is vital to the successful delivery of the strategic objectives.
**Key tasks & responsibilities**:
- Ensure the identification of commercial risk, develop, and implement effective mitigation strategies and actions and report the risk and progress with mitigation strategies internally.
- Participate in negotiations with clients with respect to commercially advantageous terms and conditions, prices, and payment plans.
- Provide advice with respect to contractual obligations, liabilities, and rights.
- Support the timely submission of bids and proposals ensuring commercial integrity and compliance with all applicable policies, processes, and legislation with specific responsibility for responding to the commercial aspects, including client terms and conditions and pricing.
- Resolution of disputes and claims ensuring best outcome for the company.
- Conduct contract reviews in conjunction with other departments.
- Prepare and review the commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all products / services are included in the final price to the client.
- Conducting team briefings once bids have been secured and provide reports to management detailing any client feedback on past, current and pending tenders.
- Drive continuous improvement, through post-bid reviews, both internally and with customers.
**Qualifications, capabilities & experience required**:
- Undergraduate Law degree or undergraduate Business degree with postgraduate Law (Contract Law or similar)
- Minimum five years of progressive responsibility with quantifiable results in contract negotiation, administration and/or management.
- Proven experience within a similar commercial contract role, ideally within the construction sector.
