We're excited to announce that we currently have a vacancy for a Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator (Day Shift) to join the Amazon Australia Team. This role is located within the MEL1 Fulfilment Center and will report to the MEL1 WHS Manager.
Do you have a strong interest or passion in working in a health and safety team to deliver high standards of safety within our FC. Do you also find that you are trained in both the standard work and tools used within the WHS function, you are a strong communicator, who values teamwork, is proactive about safety and are someone can function as a role model and engage in a professional manner with the entire FC workforce? If so, This may be the role for you.
Key job responsibilities
**Some of the responsibilities can include**:
- Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly audits
- Facilitate risk assessment and incident investigation process
- Maintain required paperwork to comply with Amazon and local regulations
- Maintain and update safety systems, entering data and developing standard reports
- Perform safety observations & audits
- Coach others (Area Managers etc.) to complete their safety responsibilities (Audits, Inspections, Risk Assessment, Investigations, Consultation etc.)
- May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, or other safety related activities depending on the business unit and location
- Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion
- This is an hourly role based on shift pattern Sunday to Wednesday (night shifts)
