**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- Ongoing Full Time
- Based at the Koonwarra Landfill
- Monday to Friday 7.30am -4.30pm with fortnightly RDO
- Base salary $72,338 + maintenance allowance + 11.5% superannuation

Be part of the Waste Management team who operate the Koonwarra Landfill, with the purpose to effectively and efficiently dispose of solid waste to landfill and maintain closed landfill cells.

Reporting to the Supervisor Waste Management, your key responsibilities include:

- Ensure the landfill is operated in a safe, effective and efficient manner in accordance with the site's licence, operation manual and relevant legislation and regulations.
- Operate and maintain all plant and equipment including landfill compactor, haul truck and 20 tonne excavator.
- Implement measures to manage and contain litter within the site.
- Coordinate the stockpiling of suitable cover material for waste on site.
- Maintain internal roads for safe access.
- Obtain quotes for materials and services.
- Operate and maintain the landfill's leachate collection system.
- Supervise onsite contractors.
- Raise purchase orders and process cash receipting.

**ABOUT YOU**:
Sound like you? To be successful we are looking for a person who ideally has:

- Relevant landfill experience and a good understanding of current landfill operating requirements.
- Haul truck licence and competency tickets to operate a landfill compactor, 20 tonne excavator, and articulated dump truck.
- Basic computer literacy skills.
- Ability to work in a team, independently and unsupervised.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to physically carry out manual labour tasks.
- Ability to work public holidays where required (excl. Christmas Day)
