**The Role**

We are currently recruiting for an Underwriter for our construction and engineering
** **team to determine the acceptability, conditions and pricing of routine insurance risks and agrees on coverage within business strategy, risk appetite, regulatory requirements, product offerings and designated authority level.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Applies underwriting strategy with respect to target markets and accounts in area of responsibility
- Underwrites routine insurance risks in area of responsibility, adhering to underwriting guidelines and standards
- Liaises with Account Management and Business Development Teams in support of account management and procurement
- Supports team; provides guidance when appropriate
- Builds and develops relationships with customers/intermediaries by handling a range of queries and provision of advice within Service Level Agreements
- Construction and engineering policy administration and policy processing

**Skills & Experience**
- 2 or more years’ experience in General Insurance (with experience in Construction & Engineering preferred); and/or
- Tertiary degree or equivalent and an Insurance qualification e.g. ANZIIF Cert IV or in the process of working towards;
- Proven current knowledge of product and industry, as demonstrated in involvement in trade and industry desirable
- Experience in risk analysis and selection
