**Description**:
At Sura Construction & Engineering we hire quality, high-performing people and allow them to get on with the job. We require a market facing senior underwriter based in Sydney to manage our existing book of NSW business and provide growth opportunities.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Underwrite Construction and Engineering business with brokers throughout NSW
- Build & maintain strong relationships with brokers and colleagues
- Work autonomously to create new business opportunities
- Manage renewal business at a high level of customer service while meeting renewal rate and retention targets
- Address all enquiries professionally and accurately
- Contribute to improving underwriting processes, procedures and practices

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good problem solving / decision making skills
- Negotiation skills
- Attention to detail and strong work ethic
- Professional attitude and appearance

**Technical Knowledge/Qualifications/Experience**
- Certificate IV in General Insurance or equivalent
- Knowledge of the legal / legislative environment in which the insurance industry operates
- Experience in construction and engineering insurance highly regarded
- Good understanding of general insurance underwriting
- Existing broker relationships highly regarded
