**About the role**

As the Safety Health Environment & Quality Advisor for our Sydney Airport Rail Link you will provide Rail Safety, SHEQ and Risk Management support to our workforce.

You will ensure a continued safe working environment and meet statutory and contractual requirements.

Focus will be on continual improvement through development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of safe practices, and adherence to company and client Rail Safety and Workplace Health and Safety Management Systems.

The Sydney Airport Rail Link is a turnkey metro project that links the Sydney city centre to Kingsford Smith Airport in Mascot. The rail line is predominantly underground tunnel over 9km in length. Ventia is responsible to Sydney Trains for asset management and maintenance of: tunnel structures, lighting, emergency lighting, tunnel drainage system, tunnel ventilation systems, fire and life safety systems, HV/LV systems for overhead traction and station power supply, signals and overhead traction equipment, rail, sleepers and ballast.

**About you**
- 2+ year's experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of Safety laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with safety management systems.
- Experience with and understanding of heavy industry safety accreditation requirements desirable.
- Proven experience working with government regulators and safety authorities.
- Cert IV in Work Health & Safety or higher-level qualification.
- Cert IV Training & Assessment and ICAM Investigator qualifications would be an advantage.
- Well-developed communication both verbal and written including solid report writing skills.
