Everyone at AGL is an important part of building a better energy future and we want you to join in.
About the role
Are you passionate about guiding people through difficult times and driving meaningful improvements in workplace wellbeing? AGL is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Personal Injury Insurance Business Partner to oversee the management of workers compensation and salary continuance claims across our entire business.
In this critical role, you’ll ensure the best possible outcomes for our employees while safeguarding AGL from financial, legal, and reputational risks.
As we embark on a new self-insurance journey for our workers compensation portfolio, we’re looking for a motivated and diligent professional to help build this function from the ground up, setting AGL and our people up for long-term success.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Claims Management: Collaborate with Injury Management, People & Culture, leaders, and external partners (insurers, medical professionals) to efficiently manage and resolve workers compensation claims.
- Advice & Coaching: Provide clear, practical advice to leaders and teams, keeping them informed on claim progress, strategies, and legal responsibilities to ensure compliance and effective management.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, brokers, legal teams, and regulators to facilitate smooth and effective claims management.
- Return-to-Work Strategy: Partner with Injury Management Specialists to develop and execute return-to-work (RTW) strategies, focusing on early intervention and achieving positive outcomes for injured employees.
- Data Integrity & Reporting: Accurately manage case files, ensuring full compliance with legislative and company requirements, and contribute to regular data reporting.
- Salary Continuance Claims: Oversee salary continuance and non-work-related injury/illness claims, ensuring fair, timely, and efficient resolution.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance claims management processes, training programs, and injury management systems, driving continuous improvement across the business.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- Proven experience in workers compensation, injury management, or a related field, ideally within a self-insurance environment.
- Strong understanding of occupational rehabilitation, including relevant legal frameworks and requirements.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and teamwork skills, with a commitment to driving positive outcomes in injury management.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities, acting as an internal advisor and effectively managing relationships with occupational rehab providers, insurers, and regulators.
- Strong organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage time and priorities efficiently.
- Experience in self-insurance and proficiency in data analytics are highly desirable.
If you're ready to bring your expertise to a dynamic team and help shape a safer and more supportive workplace, we’d love to hear from you
