**About The Role**

MacKillop Family Services is hiring a Maintenance Officer to support property upkeep across residential and commercial sites in Belconnen, ACT and Southern NSW. Reporting to the Property Coordinator, you'll handle routine repairs and maintenance, with a focus on plastering and painting. This hands-on role suits someone with a trade background and practical building maintenance experience.

**_ This is a Permanent Full Time opportunity based in Canberra and Southern NSW within our Residential Care Program. The position reports to the Property Coordinator._**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform general maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, plastering, and painting
- Inspect properties to ensure safety, compliance, and presentation standards
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment, completing required safety documentation (JSA/SWMS)
- Assist with the coordination of external contractors
- Support the Property Coordinator and Service Desk Officers in maintaining the property portfolio
- Attend team meetings and contribute to collaborative planning
- Undertake other duties as required to support property operations

**What You’ll Bring**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A qualified trade background (carpentry, plastering, or general building preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in property maintenance and safe use of tools and equipment
- Ability to assess maintenance issues, prioritise tasks, and work independently
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Willingness to work collaboratively within a team
- Understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and awareness of issues affecting Aboriginal children, young people, and families
- Commitment to the mission and ethos of MacKillop Family Services
