Seeking an experienced Carpentry Supervisor to work for a Government department in Nedlands

**Your new company**

A major Government department based in Nedlands, is seeking a competent Supervisor to lead and manage a carpentry and maintenance team. You will be engaged on an initial temporary basis, paid on a competitive hourly rate, and will be required to work full-time hours between Monday to Friday. Ideally you will be able to start immediately after a successful interview.

**Your new role**

As a Carpentry Supervisor you will be responsible for carrying out carpentry and maintenance works, as well as directing a team of building trades' staff. Your duties will include:

- Coordinating the activities of staff and onsite contractors
- Prepare and provide work estimates, quotes and technical advice to clients
- Liaise with on and off-site managers and supervisors, consulting them around carpentry and joinery services as required
- Ensure that safety requirements and procedures are being followed by staff and contractors at al times
- Carry out regular inspections of site buildings and equipment, organising repairs as required
- Assist in the recruitment and training of new staff, as well as providing performance management strategies as required

**What you'll need to succeed**

In order to be considered for this role you will display:

- Relevant Carpentry Trade Certificate, or equivalent qualification
- Previous supervisory experience and sound post-trade experience
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Strong understanding on health and safety policies and processes
- Experience in training carpentry apprentices would be beneficial
