Junior Designer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Designer to join a dynamic team at FINE-DAY.

Reporting to the Design Manager, this role will be responsible for the designing, developing, sourcing and ranging of products, with a primary focus on Apparel & Accessories. This includes seasonal trend research and range creation in addition to liaising with both local and international suppliers.

**THE ROLE**
- Present seasonal trend direction and product concepts that fit within overarching design direction
- Design unique and commercial products that consider sustainability, end use and fit within the brand aesthetic.
- Consider cost, how products will be merchandised and ranged together as well as customer experience for products
- In conjunction with the Design Manager, quantify the collection across the areas - to ensure that the product mix is right and represents exceptional value in the market.
- Communicate and liaise with factories, suppliers, and agents in order to develop and produce required product
- Through an understanding of past history and forward trends, work with the Design Manager to identify and maximise opportunities for growth

**THE REQUIREMENTS**
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Textile, Product Design or similar
- Previous experience in a similar role (preferred)
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Some knowledge and working understanding of product manufacturing and construction.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience liaising with offshore vendors a plus
- Ability to successfully multi-task and contribute to a dynamic team environment
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively
- Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator
