The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Intake & Triage Supervisor to support the daily operation of the FAS Intake and Triage function, providing specialised support to Aboriginal victims of crime.

**This is a prioritised role for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, who will be given priority consideration as per the special measures provision of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.**

**About the Business Unit**

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver a major new initiative for victims of crime. The FAS is a landmark reform that will replace the judicially based Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal with an administrative scheme that prioritises the needs of victims and supports their recovery from violent crime.

The FAS is highly anticipated by victims and stakeholders and represents a major leap forward in government's response to victims of crime. Established under the _Victims of Crime (Financial Assistance Scheme) Act 2022_ the FAS will provide financial assistance through a simple and easy to navigate process that is fair, sensitive, and responsive to victims' needs. It will acknowledge the harm done and be trauma informed, inclusive, and culturally safe.

**About the Role**

Duties will include:

- Manage a team of FAS Intake and Triage Officers, supporting and guiding them to deliver quality and consistent service to Aboriginal victims of crime and in the general Intake & Triage functions.
- Manage the daily operation of the specialist intake and triage function, including allocation of resources, management of work, communication with staff and applicants, completion of reports, and ensuring that the specialist intake and triage function meets service targets and functional responsibilities.

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience leading and/or developing an intake and triage team in a complex service delivery environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal communities, society and culture and the issues impacting Aboriginal victims of crime.
- Understanding of the nature and dynamics of family violence and sexual assault, especially in Aboriginal communities.

**Qualifications**
- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in business administration, operations, community services, social work, criminology, psychology, victim services, and/or family violence is desirable.
