**About the Role**

The Participant Liaison Officer will be responsible for ensuring Vital Disability Group delivers a high quality of support to our amazing participants and that our service meets the participants needs, helps them to achieve their goals and are compliant with the NDIS Standards.

The PLO will be the first point of contact for the Participants Stakeholders and be constantly working on building and maintaining, strong and trusting relationships with those involved in the participants lives.

**Participant Liaison Officer Core Objectives**
- _Participant Plans & Funding -_ Maximise funding opportunities to the benefit of the internal and external stakeholders whilst providing best practice and person-centred support to our participants.
- _NDIS & Management Reporting_ - Completing accurate reports regarding participants and sending to those relevant to ensure data is collected for each participant.
- _Participant Support - _Encouraging the participants (and their stakeholders) to make informed choices, exercise control and maximise their independence and integration into the community to ensure they achieve their goals.
- _NDIS Advocate - _Keep up to date with the NDIS Standards and policies and educate the Support Team, Internal and External Stakeholders with changes and updates that may affect the participants.
- _Care Team Management and Support -_Be readily available to assist the participants support team when required and manage the support teams needs and expectations
- _Adhoc Duties - _Able to work across all departments to assist the smooth running of the operation - including but not limited to - HR Tasks, Staff Training, Operations Assisting, Rostering, Shift Replacement, On-Call

**Qualities & Competencies**
- _Attitude -_Can-Do Attitude, positive, passionate about the disability industry, adaptable to change and growth, respectful and professional at all times
- _Communication - _clear, concise, and consistent communication to ensure the participant needs are always met.
- _Time Management / Organisation -_effectively manage workload and prioritiseduties and complete within relevant time frames.
- _Computer Literate -_High-Level of computer skills especially in MSOffice, proficiencies in platforms including ShiftCare, Slack, Xero, NDIS Online platforms or capable to learn swiftly.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- 100 points of ID
- A current certificate to provide First-Aid - _completed within the last 3 years_
- A current certificate to provide CPR - _completed within the last 12 months_
- National Standard Police Clearance Check - _completed within the last 12 months_
- A current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) - _for paid, unsupervised role_
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWSC)
- NDIS New Worker Orientation Module Certifications
- A current unrestricted Australian drivers license
- Current Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Covid19 Infection Control Training Certification
- A completed Certificate III/IV in Disabilities - _preferred but not essential_
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in supporting people living with cognitive, psychosocial disabilities _(required)_ in the same of similar role.

This role is a Full Time position (38hrs per week) based mainly out of our Illawarra Head Office, however there is a requirement that you will be able to travel to our SIL homes throughout the Illawarra and South West Sydney as much as required for the role.
