**About the role**
This position is a 5-year contract role and is responsible for assisting the Environment and Sustainability Group on various tasks which provide guidance in the areas of water sensitive urban design, wetland/gross pollutant trap design and maintenance, floodplain risk management, stormwater drainage, water quality and environmental sustainability matters to both internal & external customers. This may include but is not limited to the preparation of contract documentation, project briefs, and reports to internal Committees and Council.
On a daily basis you will:
- Provide professional and specialist technical advice and guidance on, Stormwater Quality and Management, Floodplain Risk Management and Integrated Water management matters to the organisation and external customers (public, developers, consultants etc.) to achieve positive outcomes.
- Provide detailed Floodplain Risk Management and environmental advice associated with strategic planning, review of major Council and State Government Planning Proposals and Projects proposing new or renewed public stormwater drainage infrastructure delivered to Council because of development.
- Manage investigation and design for a diverse range of projects and multi-disciplinary project teams.
**About You**
**Qualifications**:
- Recognised Degree in Environmental Science or Civil and Environmental Engineering (or related discipline)
- Class ‘C’ Drivers License
**Experience**:
- Approximately 10 years water and environmental science / engineering experience
- Demonstrated relevant professional experience in the design, implementation and assessment of environmental strategies, programs, and capital works with an emphasis on water management.
- Demonstrated experience in water sensitive urban design planning and delivery; and/or delivery or non-potable water schemes; and/or delivery of water efficiency and reuse programs within business and/or the community.
- Significant and demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and relationship building that results in high quality and timely outcomes.
- Proven experience in developing project delivery frameworks, building successful business cases and negotiating project outcomes.
- Proven experience in negotiating and advocacy with internal and external stakeholders including State and Federal government agencies.
- Proven experience managing consultant and/or contractor service providers to deliver high quality, timely outcomes.

Demonstrated skills in the areas of:
- Engineering Practice and Project Management.
- Planning and Design.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills Self-Management.
- Investigation and Reporting.
- Writing complex documents.
- Operating database software at a basic level.
- Operating spreadsheet software at an intermediate level.
- Operating word processing software at a basic level.
- Excellent customer and stakeholder management skills.
**What’s on offer**
We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $121,735.93 to $134,009.19 plus 11% superannuation.
