**Where you'll be working**:
The culture of the OOHC team is fun, friendly and supportive. The OOHC team are extremely passionate about the service they provide and the rewarding area they work in.
**About the role**:
A typical day or week for the OOHC Clinical lead would involve providing immediate clinical guidance to OOHC health clinicians and our various stakeholders, providing risk assessments and often working to help de-escalate or escalate various situations. A large part of this role involves empowering others within the team, being available in a senior supervisory role and essentially creating a more clinically informed workforce in a specialised area of health. The complexity of the work means there are constant learning opportunities in the fields of mental health, human development and trauma informed practice. The OOHC Clinical lead contributes to discussions at a higher level about challenges faced within the OOHC system and pathway program, highlighting gaps and suggesting ways in which improvements can be made for service delivery.
The successful applicant will be well supported through a comprehensive framework that includes clinical and cultural supervision, peer supervision, and regular accountability meetings with the District Coordinator. They’ll have opportunities to connect and collaborate with clinical leads from other VAN services, and will have access to internal and external education and training to support ongoing professional development. An in-depth orientation to the service and role will be provided, along with access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for additional support.
**About you**:
We’re seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable clinician with a deep understanding of trauma, attachment, and child development. You’ll bring expertise in the impact of complex trauma on brain development, behaviour, relationships, and mental health, along with proficiency in assessing the psychosocial needs of children and young people. As Clinical Lead, you’ll provide expert advice, uphold best practice, and support the clinical direction of the team. While experience in supervision and strategic leadership is ideal, we welcome applicants eager to develop these skills over time.
