Local Council - Skilled Operator (General Industrial) - Greensborough

**Your new company**
Your new role will involve assisting with road infrastructure maintenance works and operations. The position will be rotated for undertaking various tasks within the Infrastructure Maintenance Unit.

**Your new role**
- To set out and undertake road, footpath, drainage, traffic and street sign installation, line marking work from plans or verbal instructions for both new work and maintenance works.
- Where the assigned duties include plant operation, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the plant and associated equipment is operated in a safe manner, kept secure and maintained in a safe, clean and operable condition.
- To undertake various manual tasks and operate plant & equipment required for road maintenance activities generally described in the unit’s service specification including activities such as; excavation, placing road pavement materials, placing bituminous concrete and compacting, footpath construction/repairs, drainage repairs/installation, street furniture and signage repairs/installation, line marking, footpath grinding, installing warning signs, lights and barriers as and when directed.
- Transportation of material including to disposal sites.
- To assist and act as flagman for traffic control when required.
- To undertake work in a safe manner in accordance with OH&S requirements, Unit’s JSEA and industry practice.
- To ensure that plant & equipment is clean and in a safe operational condition at all times.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Considerable experience in the road infrastructure maintenance activities especially those defined under Key Responsibility & Duties area
- Further qualifications, such as trade qualifications, supervisor’s certificates, licences to operate other plant and equipment, traffic control would be an advantage.
- Current licence to drive medium rigid vehicles
