The Manager, Council Support provides expert technical advice in the delivery of State Building Surveyor functions.
- The Building & Plumbing Commission (BPC) is Victoria's new regulator for building and plumbing. It brings together the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the domestic building insurance function of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) into one organisation. Key functions related to building and plumbing regulation will come together under one roof, including registration, inspection and compliance, practitioner discipline, dispute resolution, and domestic building insurance. These services will now be a part of the BPC and will be fully integrated over the next 12 months. The OSBS is the main source of technical expertise for industry and practitioners in Victoria. From February 2024, the Building Legislation Amendment Act 2023 established the State Building Surveyor as a statutory appointment with a range of additional functions and powers to strengthen its significance and effectiveness.
- To strengthen the function of the BPC and support the increased leadership team a new opportunity has come up for Manager, Council Support.

**To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying, with current Unlimited Registration.
- Significant experience working as a Municipal Building Surveyor or Deputy Municipal Building Surveyor for a local Council.
- Proven expertise leading technical teams in a complex regulatory environment with outstanding technical building knowledge.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic plans and delivering programs that achieve strategic outcomes.

You will combine technical building surveying expertise with strategic oversight to enhance council capabilities and ensure community safety. Leading an expert technical team to foster collaboration between the Office of the State Building Surveyor and local councils to enhance building safety and compliance standards.
