**Disability Day Centre Team Leader - Mansfield**

**Contract**
- 12 Months Fixed Term. Interview and commence mid January 2025.
- 5 days a week, 38 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm
- 3 days Mansfield Day Centre, 2 days Acacia Ridge Office
- SCHADS Award Rate 3.1 plus 11.5% super, plus annual leave loading (70K)
- Leave in accordance with the National Employment Standards.

**The opportunity**

Our Day Centres provide engaging and meaningful programs for NDIS participants to learn and practice life skills, improve their well-being, explore interests, make new friends and enjoy fun and exciting activities in a supportive environment.

We are seeking a person with leadership qualities who can manage a team of Support Workers though leading by example. You are the benchmark for the quality of services people receive.

With support, our workers become experts in delivering each of our offerings and are the driving force behind our high quality and compassionate service. We hand pick each of our workers based on their personality, hobbies, and overall compatibility with our participants.

Quick Response Carers will provide a comprehensive induction and orientation to the role as well as all mandatory training required.

The role may suit a person with a transferable skillset and experience in health, ageing, education or childcare.

**About the role**

The Team Leader
- Delivers a schedule of social, recreational and life skills activities that are of interest to the people attending.
- Explores peoples interests and identifies what motivates them to participate in individual and group activities.
- Undertakes support needs assessments and develop written support routines for workers to follow.
- Trains and mentors’ workers to follow support routines in accordance with the participants individual preferences and choices.
- Ensures the centre culture is one where the participants and workers alike feel safe, engaged and proud of their achievements.
- Supervises and observes workers, to ensure they are performing their support in a person centred and respectful way.
- Provides leadership, guidance and support to all support workers by creating a team culture that thrives on trust, positive energy, open communication and collaboration.
- As the face of the service, will establish positive relationships with new participants, their families and other service providers.
- Coordinates and assists with client transport, including driving Centre Van, if required.
- In conjunction with the Service Coordinator undertake:
I. Rostering

II. Incident Management

III. Team Meetings

IV. Recruitment of new workers

V. Intake of new referrals
- Performs after hours On-Call as part of a rotating roster. This is fairly shared across the management team.

**Skills and experience**

**Mandatory**:

- Tertiary Qualifications in Leisure and Health, Diversional Therapy, Disability Services or equivalent.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Drivers Licence
- First Aid and CPR

**Desirable**:

- Experience in delivering leisure and life skills programs preferably with overall responsibility for a service or own caseload.
- Effective interpersonal skills to engage people with disabilities, their carers and families.
- Basic competency with technology incl. smartphones, laptops, Client Management Systems etc

Our Head Office is centrally located at Acacia Ridge, and this is where you will be based when undertaking the administrative duties of the role, whilst on the floor leading your team, you will work at our Mansfield site.

Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year
