Thistles is a disability day centre/overnight respite house. We specialise in providing 1:1 support for neurodivergent young adults with high support needs.

We are looking for casual support workers to join our team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide emotional and practical support to individuals with varying needs, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
- Promote independence and encourage personal development through tailored activities and programs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting neurodivergent young adults.

**Requirements**:

- Relevant qualification OR previous experience (lived experience absolutely counts) in a similar role, particularly supporting non verbal individuals with high support needs.
- Understanding of neurodiversity and the specific challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals.
- Ability to work empathetically and effectively with individuals who may exhibit 'challenging behaviours'.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with clients, their families, and colleagues.
- Current valid driver's license and willingness to transport individuals as required.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, equality, and diversity.
