We are currently seeking a staff member on permanent part-time basis to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine, Victoria. Hybrid working arrangements are currently in place.
**Our Team**
With a strong human rights focus, The Community Strengthening and Social Planning department supports Council to create a safer, healthier more equitable and inclusive community. Our specialist focus areas include diversity and inclusion, disability, mental health, housing and homelessness, community safety, gambling reform, child safety, civic training and participation, community grants and volunteering.
Our department drives social policy and research and delivers a number of programs for our community. Among these activities we plan and deliver a number of events and projects, including Cultural Diversity Week, National Reconciliation Week, Sorry Day, NAIDOC week, IDAHOBIT, Refugee Week, Volunteer Week, International Day of Persons with Disability, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence.
**The role**
Reporting to the Coordinator Connected Communities, we are seeking an events specialist who can bring their skills and experience for:

- Event Management and Development
- Promotion and Public Relations
- Project management and administration
- Partnerships and collaboration

**About you**
To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Relevant qualifications or experience in the management and delivery of events, and an understanding of associated requirements and procedures.
- Established ability to bring together and co-ordinate a diverse range of project partners.
- Demonstrated experience in event / project promotion using a range of media including hard copy and on-line.
- Proven ability in co-ordinating projects, budgets and project teams.
- Well-established interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in accordance withour values and behaviours
- Local government experience is desirable

In accordance with our COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Policy, this role requires you to have received a second/booster vaccination or have an authorised medical exemption before commencing employment with us.
