In the AO7 PFA (Taxation) role, you will
- be supported by, and responsible for leading, a small, high-performing corporate Taxation team, through effective team planning, allocations and monitoring, advice and identification of training needs.
- lead the department's corporate taxation responsibilities to ensure compliance with legislative requirements by developing and implementing an appropriate framework.
- lead the high-quality review and analysis of complex taxation matters, issues, proposals, submissions, and other materials to ensure that taxation-related issues are appropriately identified and considered.
- prepare specialist advice and input into the research, analysis and drafting of policies in addition to input into ministerial correspondence and briefings for senior management.
Skills & Experience
The AO7 PFA (Taxation) role requires you will have:
- Well-rounded knowledge of, and experience applying, Australian taxation legislation, and a sound awareness of the Financial Accountability Act 2009, the Financial and Performance Management Standard 2019 and relevant accounting standards.
- Experience leading activities related to the National Tax Equivalents Regime (NTER).
- Excellent communication skills, and provide accurate and high-quality advice to employees and key contacts and direct reports to facilitate the effective discharge of taxation accountabilities whilst ensuring effective compliance.
- Lead a small, high-performing finance or taxation team, and people management including the management of daily/weekly task allocation, recruitment, performance, capability development, team communication, and ensuring a safe and diverse work environment.
