**The Opportunity**
Our Principal Engagement Officers are responsible for day-to-day management of a small team, supporting them in the development and implementation of engagement strategies for various infrastructure projects across design and delivery stages.
You will manage multiple work streams simultaneously, collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure effective community and stakeholder engagement right from the start, setting up the project for future success.
You will develop strategic engagement plans, prepare high-quality public-facing materials, and identify risks and opportunities to enhance stakeholder relationships. Your strong communication skills will be essential in influencing outcomes and fostering a collaborative team environment.
**About You**
We’re seeking a collaborative team player who will champion our vision and goals, identify new opportunities and turn ideas into action. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- **Engagement Experience -** Developing and implementing engagement strategies on infrastructure or complex projects, with the ability to manage multiple projects and complex issues simultaneously.
- **Strategic Thinking -** Ability to problem-solve and influence outcomes effectively, identifying opportunities to maximise the social value of projects.
- **T**eam Leadership and Relationship Management -** Contributes to a cohesive and supportive team environment, managing and mentoring team members, and building effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- **Excellent Communication -** Both written and verbal, delivering clear and concise content appropriate for the intended target audience. This includes preparation of all engagement collateral with a high level of attention to detail.
- **Negotiation Skills and Influence -** Effectively negotiating to resolve issues and influence outcomes, displaying a genuine commitment to minimising impacts on the community and maximising positive outcomes.
- **Research and Analysis -** Undertaking research and interpreting data efficiently, presenting it in a manner that is useful to inform project decision-making.
**Qualifications/Experience**
- IAP2 qualifications are desirable.
- Formal relevant qualifications are desirable.
- Experience working in community engagement is essential.

**Special Conditions**
- A National Police Check (NPC) which must be renewed every three years.
- A Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
**Tenure of Vacancy**
Multiple opportunities available - temporary appointment up to 2 years.
**Remuneration**
ASO7 - $108,109 to $116,864 per annum + superannuation.
