Health Safety & Wellbeing Manager - Leadership position

Currently, we’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing leader to drive all aspects of our growing organisation’s health, safety and well-being strategy.
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you’ll have senior ownership for a full and diverse range of health, safety and wellbeing responsibilities in addition to leading the dedicated HSW Team.
Your recent experience in a similar leadership position together with your passion for all things HSW and your ability to engage and influence key stakeholders will aid your success in this integral position.
Your days will include;
- Ensuring policies and procedures are legally compliant and reflect best practice
- Provide instruction and education to employees in relation to hazard awareness, prevention, and safe working practices to enable them to proactively manage safety
- Engage with leaders to collaborate on safety issues, complete safety audits, and heighten awareness and understanding of the importance of a safety culture
- Manage the Catholic Healthcare Return to Work Program, ensuring employees are well supported and promptly provided with suitable return to work duties
- Maintain a positive and productive working relationship with key stakeholders, workers compensation insurers and brokers
- Provide analysis and action to drive improvements in workers compensation claims
- Effective leadership, coaching, and support to your direct reports
The ideal applicant will have an inquisitive and analytical mindset, excellent consultative, interpersonal and report writing skills in addition to;
- Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or related field.
- Significant demonstrated experience in a senior HSW leadership role preferably within an Aged Care, Health, Community or other service-related setting
- Detailed current knowledge of Health & Safety legislation & standards, safety audit systems and workers compensation schemes
- A deep understanding of injury prevention, case management & return to work program principles & practices
- Previous experience developing and implementing HSW systems within a geographically dispersed business
- Experience designing HSW strategy, and designing and facilitating HSW education programs
- Financial acumen, budget management experience
- Ability to provide evidence of Covid Immunisations x 3
