Tennis Australia (TA) is one of the largest sport’s governing body, entertainment and sports rights-holder, and media production houses in Asia-Pacific. We are made of talented and passionate people who continually strive to elevate the tennis experience and grow our great game from grassroots to Grand Slam. We’re now looking for a Head of Employee Engagement & Performance to join our Diversity & People (D&P) team on a 12 month maternity leave contract.

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Diversity & People Officer and sitting on the D&P Leadership Team, the Head of Employee Engagement & Performance ensures that our greatest assets (our people) are always thought about, invested in and have amazing experiences that enhance their career journey at Tennis. They will oversee the development of strategies across the entirety of the employee lifecycle: engaging and motivating, rewarding and recognising, wellbeing and inclusion, talent management, and the performance management cycle.

This will include:

- Considering the Employee Lifecycle framework, develop and implement initiatives, programs and processes to enhance the employee experience
- Design and drive engagement reviews for employee feedback across the entire workforce & implement action planning tools to support action being taken from this feedback
- Define and implement Tennis’ Talent Management framework and strategy
- Design and deliver upon the Mental Health and Wellbeing strategy as part of our Environmental, Social and Governance (‘ESG’) programs of work
- Oversee the reward and recognition program for both year-round and event workforce teams
- Provide leadership to two direct reports, fostering a high performing and highly engaged team

About you

With a passion for elevating employee experience and engagement, you’ll bring the following skills and experience to the role;
- Well-developed organisation and HR management skills: must be able to develop concepts into recommendations, and deliver on time and within budget
- Proven experience in developing and implementing talent management practices to drive business performance
- Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, implementing and facilitating a variety of employee experience programs.
- Exceptional organisational skills with high degree of drive, initiative, outcome orientation and the capacity to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities.
- Strong understanding of individual development planning, mass-scale behaviour change
- Attitude and behaviour consistent with Tennis values: Excellence, Humility, Loyalty and Teamwork
- You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check & Working with Children Check.
