**Who We Are Looking For**

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Aged Care Support Worker to join our team and provide essential care and assistance to elderly individuals in need. As an Aged Care Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in improving the quality of life for older adults and ensuring their comfort and well-being. Your responsibilities will involve offering personal care, emotional support, and practical assistance to promote independence and maintain a safe and nurturing environment.

**Tasks & Responsibilities**:
In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to the elderly to help them achieve their goals and maximize their independence. Your tasks will include:

- Providing personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Assisting with medication management
- Supporting clients with meal preparation and feeding
- Providing transportation and accompanying clients to appointments or community activities
- Assisting with household tasks, such as cleaning and laundry
- Providing emotional support and companionship to clients
- Developing personalised strategies to efficiently provide care for the client
- Completing documentation and managing case logbooks

**Aged Care Support Workers Should Have**:

- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications or courses in aged care, healthcare assistance, or related fields are highly desirable.
- Proven experience working in aged care or a similar caregiving role, preferably in a residential aged care facility or home care setting.
- Demonstrated understanding and empathy for the needs and challenges faced by elderly individuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport and build relationships with clients, their families, and colleagues.
- Strong observation and problem-solving abilities to recognize changes in clients' conditions and respond appropriately.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, following instructions and care plans effectively.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting, bending, and assisting with transfers.
- Empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature to provide emotional support and maintain a positive environment for clients.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills for maintaining electronic records and accessing relevant information.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

**Aged Care Support Worker Requirements**:

- Tax File Number (TFN)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- National Police Check
- Valid Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Valid Australian work rights
- Australian Driver's Licence, reliable car & comprehensive insurance
- Fluent in English at both writing & verbal communications
- Some sort of experience in Disability Home Care, Aged Care and/or Community Work is an advantage but not mandatory as training will be provided

**Casual Pay Rates $$$**:

- Payrates are currently ranging from $35 to $50 per hour
- Includes Weekends & Holiday penalty rates
- Payments are given on a weekly basis

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Gold Coast, QLD: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Aged care: 1 year (required)
