Planning Superintendent

As Planning Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in driving the direction, success and long-term planning of our high-margin underground Deflector Gold Copper Mine. Reporting to the Underground Manager and filling the role of Alternate Underground Manager intermittently as required, you will engage and lead a small team of Planning Engineers, ensuring high quality technical output and compliance with regulations. Working closely with the Mining Superintendent, this role offers a high level of autonomy and responsibility, as the primary technical professional in a high-performing and financially secure operation.

**Key responsibilities of this role will include**:

- Oversee the development of safe, detailed underground mine designs
- Manage the preparation of all medium and long-term schedules, from monthly and quarterly forecasts, up to LOM plans;
- Lead the preparation of the annual mine budget, including updating the power and cost models;
- Assist with annual Mineral Reserves reporting;
- Develop and maintain the cut-off grade strategy, including regular review of all inputs;
- Complete Feasibility and Due-Diligence evaluations on prospective mining areas;
- Complete financial evaluations and optimisations to ensure the most economical mine plan is implemented;
- Drive spatial compliance in order to meet monthly, quarterly and budget targets;
- Identify and communicate risks to the safe and efficient delivery of mine plans, including recommended mitigation strategies;
- Direct and lead members of the operational and technical mining teams, including the mining contractor;
- Work collaboratively with Mine Geology to design, schedule and manage grade control and resource definition requirements;
- Ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements and legislation; and
- Provide support to the Underground Mine Manager and operation as needed.

**We are looking for qualifications and experience in**:

- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
- First Class WA Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency
- Comprehensive experience in UG mining, including narrow vein gold operations
- Exposure to the various aspects of an UG mine, including production/drill & blast, ventilation, backfill, projects, scheduling and operations
- Significant Mine Planning experience up to and including budgets, LOM and feasibility studies
- Experience in Reserve estimation and report writing
- Experience acting as either an Alternate or Deputy Underground Manager (preferred)
- Previous contractor management experience (preferred)
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication, presentation, literacy, numeracy and analytical skills
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role, with experience training, coaching and mentoring technical professionals
- Functional knowledge of WA Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022

**ABOUT US**:
Silver Lake Resources is an ASX listed gold and copper producer operating in the Eastern Goldfields and Murchison districts of Western Australia, and in Northern Ontario, Canada. Silver Lake’s WA assets are the Mount Monger Operation, located 50 km southeast of Kalgoorlie, the Deflector Gold Copper Mine, located 160km east of Geraldton and the satellite Rothsay Gold Project in the Southern Murchison region of WA.

Deflector began production in 2016 and is a structurally complex, narrow vein, underground high-grade gold and copper mine. It is mined via longhole open stoping methods, using a top-down chevron retreat. Deflector and the more recently established Deflector Southwest mine are currently producing 45-50Kt ore/month between them.
