**About the Role**:
Provide support to the Engineering and Projects Teams in areas of purchasing of project material requirements including materials, components, equipment and services to ensure goods are available at the required time and place, meet quality requirements and specifications. You will support the team in the supply of materials, chasing up where required and maintaining communication between all parties regarding any changes, variances, problems.

Responsibilities for the Purchasing Officer include, but are not limited to:

- Ensure the purchases have been properly defined, including any relevant technical information;
- Recognise the importance of good supplier relationships in obtaining the best result;
- Have a good understanding of acceptable vendor terms and conditions and be able to identify appropriate forms and documents available for this process;
- Review documents to be included in POs for conformance with deliverables to meet project requirements and Incoterms;
- Confirm and/or identify the time frame that the purchases are required;
- Depending on the PM’s requirement, consider relevant vendors/ alternative products etc.;
- Ad hoc PO raising to assist the project admin team;
- Follow up on purchases as required by the project team;
- Follow up with PrEs to confirm that materials have been released/receipt reports completed;
- PO tracking and close out;
- Identify key risks associated to the supply of any goods, services or deliverables and highlight as soon as practical to the Project Manager, Project Engineers and any other stakeholders as required;
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget;
- Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with company and industry standards, codes and regulations;
- Attend project meetings, provide status updates, and communicate expediting issues to stakeholders;
- Monitor procurement budgets and ensure that costs are controlled;
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.

**Essential Qualities and Background**
- Degree qualified engineer with a minimum of 10 - 15 years' post-graduate experience in an aligned industry, preferably oil and gas construction projects,
- Experience in Package Engineering, Project Engineering and Project Management
- Broad experience and understanding of gas pipelines, pipeline relocations, connections and metering station and compressor station projects.
- Working for construction contractors in Australia (preferred),
- Ability to work efficiently, effectively, and to hard deadlines,
- Willingness to work on a range of projects as workload dictates,
- Adaptability to be able to work directly from client's offices representing Enscope when needed,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal & external stakeholders,
- Availability to travel interstate and to sites when needed (rosters are negotiated on a case by case basis).

**Your Profile**:

- BSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Experience in Supply Chain / Procurement / Contracting or similar with minimum of 5+ years' post graduate experience in an aligned industry, preferably oil and gas projects
- Strong technical knowledge / competency
- Supply chain and expediting capability
- Experience of managing procurement lifecycle
- Relationship management, conflict management and resolution and problem-solving experience
- Experience working closely with various suppliers including material suppliers
- Willingness to work on a range of projects as workload dictates
- Good verbal and written communication skills for both internal & external stakeholders
