**Job description**
The Start-up Ventures Specialist is responsible for supporting the Head of Accelerator Programme in the design, development, and execution of Firemark Accelerate on behalf of IAG. This role is the key contact for start-up participants, key stakeholders and relevant partners to ensure the start-ups objectives and outcomes are realised by the end of the 12 week programme. For successful ventures, this role will support the due diligence in conjunction with the ventures team.
This role works cross functionally across all teams in the Collective, particularly Product, UX/UI, Engineering and Data Science
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with a participating start-up for the duration of each season, executing and delivering to the agreed 12-week programme plan
- Work with internal IAG mentors and key stakeholders to identify IAG use cases and facilitate introductions and workshops between start-up and IAG, when required
- Work with external programme partners (i.e. government, insurance, VC and CVC, etc.) to identify new opportunities for the start-up to scale their business
- Support the development of Firemark Accelerate’s long-term strategy to ensure the programme delivery outcomes are aligned to IAG core competencies and focus areas
- Support the management of relationships and strategic engagement with all of Firemark Accelerate’s mentor and operational partners
- Identify the need for, and support the internal legal and governance requirements to ensure programme is executed and aligned to all IAG’s internal policies and procedures
- Support all follow on activity with start-ups from previous seasons, including leading and managing the Alumni programme once each Season has graduated from Firemark Accelerate
- Identify and foster relationships with potential programme partners from the insurance and VC/CVC world that help to support programme execution and start-up roadmaps
**Skills & Experience**
- Minimum of two years' experience working in and/or with start-ups or relevant experience working in Accelerator programmes
- Exposure to a sector or vertical of strategic priority to Firemark Collective
- Energetic and enthusiastic about the InsurTech start-up landscape and passion for entrepreneurship with ability to "speak the language" of Founders, Partners and Stakeholders
- Demonstrated commercial and business acumen
- Demonstrated track record of delivery in ambiguous environments
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with partners
- Proactive and skilled collaborator with a hands-on working style
