**Your new company**

This high-profile Federal Government Department is seeking an EL1 Policy/Program Officer to join one of their teams responsible for managing an arrangement to deliver health and aged care services to Australia’s self-governing and non-self-governing territories. This position has recently become available due to an influx to the workload.

**Your new role**

You will work in a complex and unique work environment where problem-solving is required on a daily basis. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

- Research and analyse key issues associated with state-type health matters for inclusion in written briefs, correspondence and advice to Senior Executives and the Minister.
- Oversee program and project outputs and coordinate across internal and external stakeholders in both the Commonwealth and State Government.
- Represent the Department at cross-agency meetings and with stakeholders across all levels of the Government.
- Developing complex policy to inform drafting instructions for legislative amendments.
- Collaborate with team members on matters to share learnings and resources. Manage the performance of your team to achieve results.

**What you'll need to succeed**

To be successful in this position, you will have previous experience in a similar position and the Federal Government. You will also have sound judgement and understand how to navigate stakeholder engagements and service providers in dealing with sensitive matters, the ability to build and maintain relevant knowledge and assess policy options, prepare advice based on sound judgement, research and technical analysis to support evidence-based decision-making and the ability to be enthusiastic and solution focused.

To be considered for this role, you will need to be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
