Development Manager Opportunity in Sydney

This Public sector agency exists to deliver trusted and independent systems, processes, oversight and engagement that support democracy in New South Wales. The Manager
- Application Development will lead the Agency's software development process to ensure that development projects are delivered on time and to budget, and the delivered business systems are fit-for purpose and achieve optimal outcomes for the organisation.

**Your new role**
- Manage and monitor the software development process across all Agency projects to meet business requirements and ensure compliance with the Agency and industry standard methodologies. Ensure that the methodologies are kept in line with industry best practice and deliver the required business outcomes.
- Lead the production of system documentation for all development projects to ensure that systems can be effectively implemented and maintained.
- Consult with key stakeholders during the development process to understand business needs and expectations, and ensure that these requirements can be met by the system.
- Co-ordinate and monitor unit testing and systems integration testing for all development projects to ensure readiness for user acceptance testing.
- Contribute to the development of the Agency's Business Systems and ICT strategies, ensuring that they reflect changes to system architecture. Develop annual Application Development plans that reflect the ICT strategy, election cycle and the requirements of the Business.
- Take a proactive approach to collaboration and information sharing across the division and wider organisation.
- Support the Executive Director and Business System colleagues to ensure the effective resolution of issues and to achieve corporate goals.
- Managing the software development process across multiple projects within a matrix structure.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' of relevant experience managing and delivering multiple software development projects in a time-pressured, matrix environment.
- Politically neutral
- Satisfactory Criminal Record check result.
