Manager Fund Lifecycle and Control

The key responsibilities of the role are to manage the Fund Lifecycle and Control team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of the following:

- Determining and maintining appropriate Buy/Sell spreads for the Funds
- Determining and maintaining appropriate security price indexes
- Analysing monthly management fee under/overs and determining appropriate accrual rates
- Project Managing the interim and annual distribution process including any ad-hoc special distributions required
- Management of the remediation process including undertaking remediation calculations
- Managing the class actions receit and payment process

Main Areas of focus
- Project Manage the distribution process for interim and year end distributions.
- Undertake annual buy/sell spread review including collection of data from portfolio managers, calculating proposed buy/sell spreads, undertaking industry comparisons, facilitating the review and approval process, ensuring spreads are instructed to and correctly implemented at the custodian/service provider, unit registries and updated on the web and internal systems (FUSE)
- Remediation function - performing impact assessments to determine if remediation is required, undertaking remediation calculations and associated assessments
- Class actions - managing the assessment and disbursement of class action proceeds to AMPI funds or clients,
- Undertaking annual Security Price Index Review by liasing with Product and Portfolio Managers to determine appropriate indices to index external trust investments to, obtaining necessary approvals, communicating the indexes to the custodian/service provider and ensuring they are accurately implemented. Ensuring appropriate indexes are maintained on an ongoing basis as investments are changed,
- Determining appropriate management fee accrual rates by analysing the unit class fee rates and the fee rate and asset allocation of any underlying trust investments
- Obtaining an ongoing maintenance of legal entity identifier and DTCC maintenance, preparation and filing of annual ASIC trust return
- Contribute to the Fund Services and Assurance Team objectives by meeting and/or exceeding customer, business and personal targets

Experience and qualifications required:

- Demonstrated experience across Fund Accounting/Audit within asset management
- Understanding of the concept of unitholder equity and how that applies to the tasks performed
- Understanding of the concepts involved in the unit pricing and distribution processes
- Previous experience undertaking Fund Technical or Product support functions preferred
- Ability to analyse, interpret and solve complex issues, understanding the detail and its implications but also can see the bigger picture,
- Working understanding of tax regulation
