**About QIMR Berghofer**:
QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of Cancer, Infection and Inflammation, Brain and Mental Health, and Population Health. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and non-research staff.

**About the Engagement & Advancement Department**:
The Engagement and Advancement department is responsible for positioning, promoting and protecting QIMR Berghofer, as well as raising vital funding through philanthropic endeavours, corporate partnerships and community engagement to support the remarkable life-saving work of the Institute’s researchers. The team is focused on delivering high quality media, marketing, government relations, community engagement, communications, events, fundraising and philanthropy activities, aligned to the Institute’s strategic objectives.

**Role Purpose / Responsibilities**:
We are seeking a passionate Gifts in Wills Officer who will work within the Gifts in Wills Program to help build a sustainable bequest development program to effectively maximise the generation of funds from bequests to support QIMR Berghofer’s current and future research programs.

Reporting to the Gifts in Wills Specialist, you will:

- Assist with Estate administration function including but not limited to;
- liaising with executors and solicitors,
- liaising with QIMR Legal Office and Finance Department to assist with the progress of estate management, ensuring efficient and timely administration
- Assist with engagement of donors in the Gifts in Wills pipeline through telephone engagement, targeted functions, information sessions and other activities as directed.
- Maintain timely and accurate records in the Raisers Edge Data Base of all contact with donors and other external relationships, while ensuring compliance with relevant Privacy and Fundraising Legislation.
- Work collaboratively with other team members of the Engagement and Advancement Department to optimise donor engagement.

**About you**:
To be successful in this position you will have previous experience in a Fundraising and Philanthropy program, Wills and Estates administration, or possessing skills and experience directly transferable to the role. You will have excellent communication, collaboration and negotiation skills, with the ability to relate sensitively to people, especially people of a senior age. Most importantly you will have impeccable personal ethical standards and a sound knowledge of the rights and responsibilities associated with working with the elderly and people in vulnerable positions.

**FTE and Remuneration**:This is a part-time (0.6 FTE / 3 days per week), continuing appointment. The salary range based on 0.6FTE is $53,354 to 58,754 p.a. plus super and generous salary packaging.
