QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of Cancer, Infection and Inflammation, Brain and Mental Health, and Population Health. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and non-research staff.

**About the Security Team**:
The security team is responsible for safeguarding the Institute’s people, property and information supporting a secure environment for leading medical research to thrive.

**Role Purpose / Responsibilities**:
Applications are invited for the position of Security Supervisor to lead the day-to-day management of security services at QIMR Berghofer. This position provides management of daily security operations, strategic staff leadership, expert technical advice and operational oversight to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Daily, on-site security operational management
- Provide friendly and approachable, customer-focused security and concierge services
- Lead and manage the 24/7 rostering and performance of security officers
- Oversee regular internal and external patrols of Institute facilities
- Ensure strict access control procedures for authorised personnel and visitors
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with emergency services, internal departments and security vendors
- Provide expert advice on the strategic direction of emerging trends and best practices in security services
- Provide on-call support to the security team
- Support and contribute to the Institutes’ Emergency Response Plan.

You will be clear, polite and an active listener with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

You will bring a high level of expertise, professionalism and judgement to this role, with the ability to work independently and lead a dispersed team.

**Remuneration**:Salary range is $95,697 to $100,862 plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, permanent appointment.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process.
