**Job No**: 496931 **Work Type**: Full Time, Part Time or Casual/ Intermittent **Location**: Canberra **About the role** Public Programs is responsible for developing and delivering interpreted, engaging and curated programs aimed at providing access with the national archival collection in the richest possible ways. Public Programs develops and delivers programs onsite, offsite and online through exhibitions - touring, temporary and permanent - lifelong learning programs, school programs and digital experiences. This might just be the job for you - as a Visitor Services Officer, you will engage Australians with the Archives every day. Under general direction the main duties of the role are to: - Deliver engaging activities, tours and education programs in galleries and public spaces to visitors and school groups. - Perform administrative duties including collating daily statistics, operating a point of sales system and other administrative duties as directed. - Provide support to develop and research tours for visitors. - Monitor and maintain the presentation of public spaces. - Provide evacuation and fire warden duties and First Aid response as required. Positions may be offered as part-time rostered shift worker as per the National Archives of Australia Enterprise Agreement 2024-2027 and the successful person will be required to commit to a roster that includes regular weekend work. All successful applicants must be willing to work flexible hours as required including at times after hours. A demonstrated interest in and knowledge of Australian history and museums, and experience in customer service and presentation skills are desirable. **Eligibility**: To be eligible for the role you must be an Australian citizen. If you are selected, you will be required to successfully undergo a pre-employment check and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at a Baseline clearance level.
