Baringa State Secondary College, located in Baringa (Caloundra South) opened its doors for the first time in 2021, when Year 7 and 8 students commenced at the college. **About the Role**:As the Head of Department, you will**:

- Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives.
- Participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division.
- Develop the quality of teaching and learning.
- Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.

The Head of Department is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.
**The key responsibilities**:

- Leading the planning and enactment of the curriculum across all phases of learning within the college, and the leading of improved pedagogical practices for positive learning environments.

This includes;
- 7-10 Australian Curriculum developed and implemented with fidelity.
- Senior curriculum development leadership.
- Strategic evaluation and support of the moderation cycles across faculties.
- Analysis of student data and development of strategies for improved student outcomes.
- Development of staff expertise in Essential skills for Classroom management and whole of college consistent practices supported through profiling protocols.
- Visible leadership, capability develop of staff through coaching processes.
- Leadership of implementation of college instructional moves supported through instructional rounds, learning walks, lesson observations.
