About the School
Currimundi Special School is a P-12 school located in the North Coast Region on the Sunshine Coast just north of Caloundra. The school enrolment zone incorporates a large catchment, from Maroochydore and Buderim in the north, to Caloundra and Pelican Waters in the south and as far west as the communities of Landsborough and Beerwah. We are proud to be a Queensland State Special School, and teach the Australian Curriculum, providing individualised learning experiences for students with complex educational needs in a safe, supportive and caring environment. We have high expectations for, and of, all students, with a focus on working with each student to reach their potential.
About the Role

**As the Head of Department - Student Services), you will**:

- Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes and attendance for students with a disability, ensuring quality learning outcomes for all.
- Provide appropriate data returns to the Principal
- Focus on initiatives that support engagement and educational outcomes for students with a disability
- Monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary
- Participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division
- Communicate and work with parents, staff and the community to develop strategies to improve learning outcomes, student achievement and attendance.
- Develop the quality of teaching and learning across the school
- Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies and programs with other organisations, local businesses and not for profit organisations.

The Head of Department (Student services) is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.
