About the team
The TEQ Finance and Planning team provides high level of support and advice to the organisation in the areas of transactional services, governance, planning and finance systems, servicing both our local and overseas teams.
About the role
The Finance and Project Officer processes financial transactions (AP, AR, Corporate Card, Procurement and Travel) within Tourism and Events Queensland in a multiple foreign currency environment. The role ensures that all transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Key duties
- Ensure compliance with tax requirements including domestic GST and international VAT/GST
- Undertake accounts functions including processing vendor and debtor invoices in multiple currencies, reconciliation of vendor and debtor accounts, performing payment runs and ensuring the integrity of the creditors and debtors ledger
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (staff, audit, banks) by providing information, using investigative problem-solving skills to resolve general queries that arise
- Train and mentor staff within the Finance Services team
- Develop and maintain an understanding of TEQ's priorities and how the role can assist staff in meeting associated objectives
- Provide advice to staff regarding financial matters, including accounts payable and receivable, Corporate Card, procurement, travel, facilities and financial policies

**For this role, we will consider your**:

- Tertiary degree in Business or Commerce with a major in Accounting
- Experience in accounts payable and receivables
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure with a high degree of accuracy and speed
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders in a professional and proactive manner
- Demonstrated success in providing consistent and exceptional customer service
