Santos has a regional operating model with a strong local focus. The Company’s operating structure comprises three regional business units focused on enabling and executing corporate strategy. Two divisions - Santos Energy Solutions and Santos Upstream Gas and Liquids - are accountable for global portfolio management and strategy.

**About the Role**

The primary objective of this position is to manage all aspects of the EA / PNG Regional Business Unit Aviation operations including:

- Fixed and rotary wing operations
- Aerodrome operations and associated company facilities.
- Travel and personnel logistics
- Emergency response (ER) and search and rescue (SAR)

Based in the Santos Brisbane office, this role’s key accountabilities are to identify and manage all risks associated with areas of operation, manage assurance activities and develop and lead high performing teams. Regular travel both interstate and to PNG is required.

Responsibilities include:

- Management of aviation activities within region including Helicopter operations, Aerodrome, Fixed wing charter and Regular Public Transport (RPT) services
- Provides industry experience, understand international (ICAO), national regulator legislation (CASA) and best practice relevant to area of operations.
- Establish governance and assurance systems to ensure safe operations and compliance with the Santos Management System.
- Effective and timely engagement and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Works in collaboration with the Global Aviation Principal in the
- Design and optimisation of aviation solutions that meet operational or project requirements.
- Developing contracting strategies
- Compliance to Company Technical standards
- Manage Contractor performance to ensure service levels meet contract scopes.
- Leads continuous improvement and efficiency optimisation activities

**About You**

We are looking for an experienced Aviation Manager to be an integral part of our team. To stand out in this role, we are looking for a highly motivated professional with demonstrated skills and experience in:

- Extensive experience in an operations leadership role, preferably within Aviation
- Offshore and/or onshore oil and gas aviation operations
- Experience as CASA defined key personnel role within Aviation industry, including Air Operator Certificate management level
- Ideally a trained Pilot (ATPL) or Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer qualified
