**About the Role**
On the Melbourne Children’s Campus, there is recognition of the need to grow our educators, provide pathways for their professional development and ensure cross-collaboration between the University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics and the Royal Children’s Hospital and its education functions. In 2019, the Education Hub was established with an overall aim to support quality education for health professionals. Core functions of the Hub include developing educational programs and resources, education innovation, growth and connecting educators, optimising technology for learning and evaluating our education for impact.
Education Fellow positions have been created to provide opportunities for developing clinical educators and engaging clinical departments through The Hub. The Education Fellows are responsible for developing and/or delivering teaching and learning activities within established or new education programs on the Melbourne Children’s Campus, working under the guidance of and reporting to the Director of the Education Hub.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Where applicable, deliver teaching sessions in existing and/or new Melbourne Children’s education programs.
- Identify the opportunity for and/or support the implementation of new education initiatives or projects.
- Undertake or contribute to designing, conducting, or reporting education research on the Melbourne Children’s Campus.
**Who We Are Looking For**
To be successful in this role you will have enthusiasm, experience, and demonstrated commitment to provide quality clinical teaching/education. You will also have strong interpersonal skills enabling you to work effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
You will also have:
- AHPRA registration in Australia where required (or eligible for medical registration in Australia) or eligibility for an appropriate professional body membership.
- An accredited qualification in one of the health professions (Allied Health, Nursing or Medicine) with a focus on paediatrics.
- Ongoing employment on the Melbourne Children’s Campus.

- This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone._

**Your New Team - Department of Paediatrics**
The Department of Paediatrics is the flagship representative of the University's partnership with the Royal Children’s Hospital and is co-located with the hospital in Flemington Road, Parkville. The Department of Paediatrics is a large department within the Melbourne Medical School. The Department has responsibility for the Child & Adolescent Health component of the Doctor of Medicine course within MMS. There are 82 academic and professional staff, 447 honorary academic staff, and more than 150 students enrolled to pursue research degrees from Honours, Masters and PhD. Approximately 220 students rotate throughout the year undertaking the CAH clinical studies, and a further 60 students undertake research in the MD Research Project component of the MD course.
