**About the Department**
- The Social Work Department aims to provide services to Austin Health patients and their families/carers which assists in the minimisation of the negative impacts of illness and hospitalisation. We aim to enhance social and emotional functioning through targeted interventions; whilst leading and excelling in research, teaching and the use of person[1]centred evidence-based practice.

**About the role**
- As a casual Social Worker Grade 2, you will be responsible for providing clinical social work services to inpatients across one or more of our Austin Health sites. A regular day will see you work clinically with patients, attend family meetings and non-clinical meetings, and undertake other duties that support the social work department and its operations.
- The position will be required to move across clinical areas, including acute and subacute sites as required.
- Provide counselling to patients and families
- As required, supervise Grade 1 social workers and social work students
- Participate in quality improvement, service improvement and/or research

- You will be someone who has excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to you work and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
- To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:

- A degree in Social Work
- Experience working in a hospital or health related setting
- The ability to work and contribute to team culture and work within a multidisciplinary environment
- If you have experience working with vulnerable people and individuals who require support for complex discharge planning, assessing and responding to Family Violence and Child Safety risk, and / or knowledge about how to navigate NDIS and Aged Care systems, then we want you to join our team
