Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.
An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced social worker to join our Social Work Department. This position is based at Austin Hospital campus and will work across several clinical areas as part of the Social Work Medicine/Special Medicine Team. As a Grade 2 you will use your social work knowledge and skills to undertake psychosocial assessments and deliver a range of social work interventions. This work will include facilitation of discharge, liaison with patients and families, resourcing and working collaboratively within Multi-disciplinary teams. In this role you will also have opportunities to supervise staff and students and participate in research and quality improvement activities. The Social Work Department will support your growth and development by providing supervision, training and education and professional development opportunities.
