An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced **Social Worker **with experience in Mental Health care** **to join Mary Guthrie House - Neuropsychiatry Program**.**

The** Mary Guthrie House** is part of the Victorian Brain Disorders Program, a multicomponent neuropsychiatry program located on the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre in Kew specialising in the care and treatment of individuals under the age of 65 years with a brain injury or neurodegenerative condition and associated psychiatric diagnosis including behavioural disturbance.

The** Social Worker** of Mary Guthrie House fulfils the roles and responsibilities of the position by demonstrating expert knowledge and skills in psychosocial assessment, specialist intervention and case management.

The Social Worker will provide expert social work input to the multidisciplinary treatment team and acts in consultation with the Nurse Unit Manager and the Discipline Senior Social Worker.

**Essential Knowledge and skills**:

- Eligibility for AASW membership with relevant clinical experience in adult mental health inpatient units or with consumers with ABI diagnosis.
- Ability to plan develop, implement, monitor and evaluate health service delivery.
- Sound knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health Act (2014), Aged Care Act (1997) and related legislation.
- Sound knowledge of NDIS and experience working with NDIS providers
- Experience and demonstrated skills working with families.
- Experience and demonstrated skills in dealing with conflict, challenging behaviours and crisis management.
- Demonstrated commitment to high quality customer service.
- Possession of a current Victorian driver’s license.

**Desirable but not essential**:

- Knowledge and experience in community liaison and the development of community networks is highly desirable.
