Project Officer

**About the role**

An exciting opportunity exists for an organised and highly motivated person to be an integral part of the Community Development Department.

The position will be responsible for developing and implementing the Carers Support Services to increase support for carers in the whole community, with a particular focus on carers of people with a disability.

This project is part of the Community for All Abilities program, which the position will also provide advice and support for the delivery of the broader suite of projects.
- Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:_
- Establish networks and partnerships with community service organisations
- Scope suitable locations for carer support services to be delivered from
- Develop a Project Plan, including implementation schedule that is aligned to the Community for All Abilities program
- Identify carer needs and suitable approaches to address those needs
- Develop an evaluation framework to ensure project deliverables are met that is aligned to the Community for All Abilities program
- Organise events and activities to connect carers to existing services and supports available
- Develop and implement a communications and engagement plan for carers
- Produce and/or promote resources for use by community groups and individuals
- Provide advice and support for the delivery of the Community for All Abilities projects

**About you**

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is reliable, efficient and pro-active focused with exceptional communication skills and attention to detail. With strong organisational and time management abilities, your capability to build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be integral.
- To be considered for this role, you must have:_
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field of social policy, planning or community development.
- Experience in working with people with a disability and their carers to implement programs, strategies and initiatives.
- Experience in developing and implementing project plans
- Experience in setting priorities and meeting objectives
- Please note that applicants must be willing to undergo a police records check, and hold or be willing to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check for the purposes of employment._
