Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced
**Business Improvement Specialist** for their flagship Open Cut Mining Operation in the Bowen Basin. This critical position will have you reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and will have a key on focus on the overall development, implementation and tracking of the site Business Improvement Strategy and its targeted improvement initiatives.

The key deliverable of this role is to facilitate a process to ensure continuous improvement delivery across the mine site. This will involve analysis of business constraints, identification, delivery and reporting of key projects, and ensuring projects comply with applicable company standards and governance frameworks as required.

**Other accountabilities will include but not limited to**:

- Support the implementation of a standardised set of BI processes, tools, and systems.
- Be the BI champion on site and facilitate the business process and related management routines.
- Work with relevant site stakeholders to develop priority opportunities into BI projects using a range of tools, templates and systems.
- Be a “hands on” BI capability and resource required to deliver BI Projects, working closely with process owners.
- Ensure systems and processes are fit for purpose and support BI functionality and delivery across site.
- Ensure the necessary governance, control, and mitigations are in place to address project implementation and change risk where required.
- Assist with building BI capability and awareness at site through formal and informal programs.

**To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following;**
- Extensive operational and business improvement experience.
- A proven track record of delivery of improvement initiatives.
- Experience leading change programs, managing stakeholders and workstreams.
- Good track record of interfacing with and influencing senior managers in other functions.
- Strong operations experience dealing with third parties (e.g., contractors and consultants).
- Good understanding of mine sites.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximising the effective extraction and distribution of commodities.
