**Laboratory Manager for Advanced Energy Storage Lab (AESL)
- (HEO7) $91,187 -$101,987 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.**

**Fixed term position for a period of 5 years.**

**With the recent establishment of the Advanced Characterisation Facility, a skilled Laboratory Manager is required to manage the AESL laboratories, in particular the new established Battery Characterisation Laboratory.**

The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for providing expert technical support and advice to academic staff and postgraduates whilst ensuring the laboratory facilities are developed and maintained to accommodate the changing requirements of research opportunities and alignment to the strategic direction of AESL. The successful incumbent will have high level knowledge and technical expertise in the use of complex and sensitive and equipment and processes as well undertaking the maintenance, repair, and installation of new and existing equipment to accommodate nonstandard operations.

To be successful you will need:

- A relevant education and research background/degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in using a range of analytical equipment, including GC, Battery Chargers, Gloveboxes, XPS, Furnaces, Ball millings etc.
- Demonstrated experience in the installation, operation, problem solving of relative equipment within laboratories.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully managing risk and work, health and safety standards in a laboratory environment to meet compliance to self-insured status.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and initiative to learn new skills and processes to achieve an outcome.
- Demonstrated knowledge of technical services and principles associated with achieving customer focused outcomes.
