**About the role**:

As Cancer Council Queensland continue to support Queenslanders in need every day, they are now seeking to appoint a Business Development Specialist to join the team in the Toowoomba / Lockyer Valley region.

In this newly created role, you work as part of a team to deliver the Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley region Business Development activities and identify, build and leverage networks including Philanthropy, Corporate Investment, Campaigns and Events, Community Engagement and Local Area Marketing to provide a presence within the region.

This fantastic opportunity requires someone who will develop ongoing relationships across a range of sectors to pre-position for funding opportunities. You will work closely with the Business Development Manager and will assist in the development and implementation of strategic engagement plans for priority donors, and will lead and deliver the bid development process for all mission-based income streams to ensure strategic alignment and quality.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Contribute to and implement the strategic business development for Cancer Council Queensland Programs and regional priorities across Toowoomba and the Lockyer Valley.
- Implement the Service Delivery, Marketing and Volunteer requirements to enhance CCQ’s presence in within the community.
- Lead development of all mission income proposals and budgets, collaborating with the Service Delivery, Philanthropy, Corporate Investment, Campaigns & Events, Marketing and the Volunteer teams to ensure all CCQ representation to ensure that concepts and proposals align with capacity and priorities to Navigating Cancer
Together strategy and the community requirements.
- Support the Business Development Manager and Philanthropy Team to identify opportunities and meet income targets for quality strategic funding from Gift in Wills, Major Gifts, Regular Giving, Gift in Memory, Appeals in line with the individual state-wide strategies.
- Support the Business Development Manager and the Corporate Investment team to identify opportunities and meet income targets for quality Corporate Partnerships, and Workplace Giving programs in line with the individual state-wide strategies.
- Support CCQ Operations to role out the marketing and media presences of core business and individual and corporate revenue generation activities.

**About you**:

- Excellent communications skills in English (both written and verbal), good editing skills and the ability to tailor communication materials for different audiences.
- Confident networker with experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a range of donors and stakeholders.
- Commitment to providing effective support to peers, volunteers and partners possessing a range of skills and experience.
- Experience delivering funding strategies in line with organisation capacities and program strategies and achieving funding targets.
- Business and financial literacy, ability to analyse and devise robust budgets that deliver full cost recovery.
- Organised and methodical approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Current valid Queensland Drivers Licence
