Federal Govt Team requires Finance Business Partner for long term contract

With a focus on providing services and support to a large part of our community with specialist needs, this Federal Government organisation is looking to recruit an experienced Finance Business Partner. Located in Parramatta with flexible work options, previous Commonwealth finance experience would be ideal for this role.

**Your new role**

**Supporting the Assistant Finance Director, key duties will include**:

- Establishing strong business relationships with senior department managers
- Financial Analysis including developing more effective reporting
- Variance and Trend Analysis with commentary and recommendations
- Project Cost Analysis
- Key expenditure monitoring
- Updating monthly reporting packs
- Budget process coordination and tracking
- Budget cost analysis and benchmarking
- Budget review and revisions
- Financial modelling - resources, major costs, efficiencies

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Previous experience within a federal government based role would be a major advantage to quickly get up to speed with Commonwealth frameworks, processes and budget cycles relevant to this department
- Strong financial analysis and business partnering skills to help Dept Heads understand key financial drivers and provide better financial management
- Budget management experience including creation, rolling reviews, analysis and adjustments
- Cost management reporting and financial modelling skills
- Advanced Excel
- Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal
- Ideally CPA/CA qualified or solid experience in a similar Finance Business Partnering role within Federal Government
