**About the role**

The difference between an IT Business Partner and an IT Business Analyst?

Both understand the wider impact that technology has on a business. Both have to understand problem statements and explore what people really need. Both build important relationships right across a business.

It’s the Business Partner who gets to experience a wider variety of interesting work - without getting stuck on one task for months on end.

In this job, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved with high-level strategy, learn what technology a business needs, and quickly ramp up your skills to take on more interesting work.

**What the role will involve**:
As the Business Partner, you’ll be:

- Managing important relationships between our IT group and the rest of the business. You’ll be consulting with stakeholders to understand the complexity of their challenges, analysing what they actually need and understanding their ‘why’ before proposing any solutions.
- Working alongside our Architects by keeping on top of the technical capabilities at your disposal. For example, you may see an opportunity to improve a platform rather than completely replace it. You may recommend a quick fix. You might suggest a significant change. You’re pulling out the right tools for the job.
- Bringing two parties together to simplify technology and help people do their best work. You’ll manage a primary and a secondary portfolio, along with all the intricacies and interesting work they bring.
- Getting involved with the high-level strategy conversations. This means you’ll be forming an understanding of what a 3,500 people business needs and you’ll be helping to shape those strategies where tech is concerned.
- Facilitating, process-mapping and workshopping with stakeholders to help them reach their desired outcomes, keeping them updated every step of the way.
