**The Role**
Are you a high performing, motivated and experienced Health professional with governance and program or training design experience?

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Branch has recently been established in the People Services and Wellbeing Division, Defence People Group. The Branch develops strategy, policies and programs that enable the assured and continuous improvement of mental health across the Defence Enterprise by providing evidence based research and advice to improve Defence workforce wellbeing.

The Programs and Implementation Directorate within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Branch is responsible for the design, development, implementation and promotion of mental health programs and packages for the Defence workforce to:

- Develop and maintain mental health and wellbeing programs, initiatives and activities;
- Prepare and contribute to the development of mental health training materials, policies and processes;
- Encourage and promote evidence-based health promotion practices and programs to the Defence workforce;
- Identify, interpret and clarifying mental health and wellbeing development requirements to meet business needs and promote a learning culture;
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement mental health and wellbeing initiatives, programs and policies;
- Use project management and stakeholder engagement skills to coordinate Subject Matter Expertise and mental health training facilitator feedback to continuously improve mental health training packages; and
- Evaluate programs and initiatives to measure their success, and identify and provide recommendations for future improvement.

Two key roles are available in this recruitment:
**Mental Health Promotion Officer: Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs (AToD)**

You will work to the Assistant Director to provide Subject Matter Expertise in relation to the development and implementation of policies, frameworks, initiatives and resources to stakeholder and senior leaders.

**Mental Health Program Design and Governance Officer**:
Working directly to the Assistant Director Mental Health Programs Design and Governance, you will use project management and stakeholder engagement skills to support the continuous improvement and governance of a range of mental health training programs and materials, policies and processes.

**About our Team**
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Branch comprises military members and civilian employees. We are growing into an inter-disciplinary team focused on improving the mental health and wellbeing of the Defence community.

The Programs and Implementation Directorate provides leadership in program development and implementation through consultation and collaboration with Defence Groups and Services, to adopt and monitor mental health and wellbeing activities.

We design and coordinate whole-of-Enterprise data-driven programs and promotion activities that are underpinned by contemporary best practice, scientific evidence and lived experience.
