**The Role**
As an APS 6 Work Health and Safety Officer, you will be expected to:

- Engage in research and analysis activities to identify and address work health and safety risks to capability.
- Contribute to implementation and continuous improvement of work health and safety management systems in accordance with legislation and Defence policies.
- Evaluate activities and processes for compliance with work health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.

Space Command (SPACECOMD) is a multidisciplinary workforce across Navy, Army, Air Force, Australian Public Service, and Industry.

SPACECOMD has been established to prepare space power to secure Australia's interests in peace and war. Its vision is to assure Australian civil and military access in space, integrated across Government, and in concert with allies, international partners and industry. The Chief of Staff Branch in SPACECOMD manages a range of Command wide business functions and is looking for a high performing APS 6 WHS Manager to join our team, in this integrated and high tempo environment. On-the-job and formal training will be provided.
- Researching and analysing activities to identify and address work health and safety risks to capability.
- Contributing to implementation and continuous improvement of work health and safety management systems in accordance with legislation and Defence policies.
- High level planning, organising and prioritising skills.
- Managing complex work packages in compressed timeframes
- Stakeholder engagement and management.
- Building/maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.
- Strong planning/time management skills, particularly prioritisation and critical thinking.
- Judgement and a bias for action in driving outcomes, including problem solving and flexibility.
- Financial and contracting experience.
- Skilful communicator (both written and verbal).
