The role
This role will provide leadership, advice and support on procurement strategies, contractual administration and procurement procedures, ensure delivery of required business outcomes and ensure compliance with the Queensland Procurement Policy and all other relevant governance policies and procedures. Managing and leading complex procurement activities, supplier contracts, procurement education and information specific to Forensic Science Queensland, you will:
- Exercise a procurement delegation, overseeing sourcing processes including the development of all relevant documentation and contracts
- Develop contracts with suppliers, aligning contractual obligations with delivery KPIs to enable ongoing contract performance.
- Undertake procurement performance reporting, market analysis and provide specialist advice to staff, plus external stakeholders using high level research, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Provide expert advice to the branch, Suppliers and key stakeholders on the Contracting framework
- Promote a culture of high-level customer service across all elements of procurement in Forensic Science Queensland and address resistance or obstacles in a customer focused constructive manner.
The successful person
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing contemporary procurement strategies, policies, and practices
- Demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills to identify and analyse issues and develop quality options and strategies to resolve complex procurement issues.
- Well-developed ability to build and maintain appropriate relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality procurement outcomes and manage conflicting priorities and tight timeframe.
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, including the ability to advise and influence clients and senior management on complex procurement issues.

Forensic Science Queensland (FSQ) laboratories are located at Coopers Plains, Brisbane. FSQ operates specialised Forensic Biology, Forensic Chemistry and Forensic Operations functions that provides forensic services and expert advice to the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and the Coroner's Court of Queensland.
Please note that proposed legislative and structural changes may result in Forensic Science Queensland being moved to another agency within Queensland Public Sector.
